Milton Keynes arts collective Where Two Rivers Meet have released tickets for their next live music event.
Scott Matthews and Ernest Herb will deliver at The Parlor Sessions on Saturday, September 26, again taking place in the splendid setting of Newport Pagnell's St Peter and St Paul’s Church.
Scott’s ground-breaking debut album, Passing Stranger earned him serious critical acclaim with its bold mix of folk, rock, blues and Eastern-inspired songwriting, and in 2007 his first single ‘Elusive’ won the Ivor Novello Award for ‘Best Song Musically and Lyrically.’
Scott went on to perform at international sell-out tours with respected artists such as Rufus Wainwright, Bert Jansch, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, Foo Fighters, Snow Patrol and Tori Amos.
Championed by Lauren Laverne as ‘a big favourite’ and Huey Morgan as being ‘something else’, Scott’s musical dexterity and experimental approach to song-writing continued to excite over the course of the next several albums released.
His latest album, Restless Lullabies, emerges with a stark boldness that is breath taking. The delicacy of the songs allows his poetry to breathe, his transcendent voice to soar, and brings his sensitive guitar playing into focus, further cementing his undeniable mastery as one of our greatest songsmiths.
Local leader Ernest Herb is also on the bill, and will be spinning his favourite tunes as he opens the night with a cocktail of Jazz, soft rhythms and reggae. Ernest will perform his own brand of live beats. His DJ sets offer an insight into his huge record collection and are the perfect accompaniment to the late summer sunshine.
Tickets are available on Eventbrite at £18 each and are expected to sell out after the last event’s success.
